GENERAL PTO / EXECUTIVE BOARD MEETING 

December 12, 2024 01:00 PM Central Time

Call to Order: In attendance: this meeting was a series of emails updating the PTO on current events. These minutes are a reflection of the notes.

Treasurer’s Report: Cathy Swink - Trivia night had a profit of $5,793.77 and Cougar Night had profits of $3,045.94 which will go towards our operating expenses.

Community Activities VP Report: Shailja Enriquez-

• Community Activities: Shailja - The food drive is complete! We collected 667 Mac n cheese boxes for L3! (Love, Literacy, Life)
• Website: Robin Jensen - no update
• ELA Books: The PTO is selling books through the PTO website. 

School Activities VP Report: Shailja Enriquez-

• Spirit Wear: No updates for this month.
• Cougar Night: Jennifer Turner & Kylie Foster -  No updates for this month.
• 8th Grade Farewell: The committee is looking into a venue currently. 
• Diversity Council Liaison - Angela Mosby - Manasi Sharma is shadowing Angela and will take over next year. Potential date of April 30th for the Multicultural Festival.

School Fundraising  VP Report: Erin Dunlap -

• Trivia Night - Thursday, November 14th was a success! We had 12 books donated by families and just over $3,000 will be donated to the library. Stay tuned for what Ms. Ekstrand will be purchasing.

• Mouse Derby - Friday, January 17th, 2025 from 7pm-9pm @ Lodge at Ironwoods
• The funds raised will go towards completing the school courtyard. This will include creating an outdoor learning space with flexible seating as well as updating the landscaping. 
• Mouse Derby tickets are on sale now on the PTO website site. If you want to save 20% buy your tickets early before prices go up on 1/4/25!  
• The option to sponsor/name a mouse is available for $25 as well as the opportunity to sponsor a race for $100 (includes 1 admission ticket). Both of these items are limited quantities so buy early! 
• Food catered by Q39.
• Beverages by TopShelf Bartending.
• Our 2nd Wine/Whiskey Pull Donation Drive is this week!  Drop off bottles on 12/12 @ The Wellington Park Clubhouse anytime between 6-8pm.  Flyer attached.
• Working on getting the Silent Auction up and running on Aucturia. This will be available to everyone by January 10th. 

Mouse Derby Communication: 

• Banners up outside the entrances this week.
• Parent texts and emails with the ticket link to start going out this Friday 12/13.
• LKMS Teachers and Staff will receive special pricing/QR code. Their admission will be $45 which is a 25% discount from the current price.
• Social Media posts next month!  Please help us spread the word by “liking” and reposting! 

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!  Throughout the course of the evening we will be in need of some volunteers. Since we know everyone most likely wants to also enjoy the event we would like to split these up into shifts. I wanted to ask the PTO first before I just send this out to everyone. If you’re interested in volunteering that evening please contact Erin Dunlap or Keri Williams and let us know. 

***Anyone who volunteers will have the option to purchase a “special price ticket” (like the teachers and staff) but this is ONLY for the person(s) volunteering.

• Staff Meals - Alison and Chrissy  are going to be working with Della to get the staff holiday gift cards organized.
