GENERAL PTO / EXECUTIVE BOARD MEETING 

Time: October 10, 2024 1:00 PM

 

Call to Order: In attendance: Angela Mosby, Lara Arnold, Kylie Foster, Chrissy Wrighty, Robin Jensen, Jen Centlivre, Kelly Harrison, Keri Williams, Sheilja Enriquez, Erin Dunlap, Kelly Capps, Lisa Stopler, Prayia & Mia Newman 

 

Principal’s Report: Lisa Stolper - Quarter one ends tomorrow. Choir and band have had their performances this week. XC, Volleyball wraps up this week and we have one more home football game. Musical Tryouts are coming up closer to Halloween. 

 

Presidents’ Report: Keri Williams - 

 

Treasurer’s Report: Cathy Swink - (unable to be in attendance)

  • Bank balance is around $21k
  • No large expenses are outstanding, lodge was paid for.
  • Votes on the proposed budget are requested
  • We are looking into having a square reader at events
  • Q3 sales tax return will be filed by Oct 25th with zero sales for the for the quarter
  • We left the $10k grants in the budget but they are on hold until either memberships are higher or fundraising allows us to fulfill grants. We also changed the teacher gift cards back down to $25 per teacher, down from $75 last year. No profits are assigned to Cougar Night or 8th grade celebration, as those events are there strictly to pay for themselves.

Community Activities VP Report: Shailja -

  • Community Activities: Shailja - We are planning a collection drive for  L3 (Love, Literacy, Life) of Mac n cheese boxes on Dec 2nd - 6th. Thanks! Ms. Gerner has a service club this year, we will connect and possibly use kids to count boxes and make a competition between the grade levels.
  • Website - Robin Jensen - Showcase each PTO role on the web site.
  • ELA Books: Possibility of having teachers pick a book for us to sell through the PTO website. 

 

School Activities VP Report: Kelly Capps -

  • Spirit Wear: Jennifer Davenport - shirts came in from Century Marketing and are ready to be picked up in the front office.
  • Cougar Night: Jennifer Turner & Kylie Foster -  November 8th 6:00 - 8:00 pm
    • The Theme for Cougar Night is Cougar Kingdom, we will have black and white silicone bands, football toss and a few different inflatables, same DJ
  • 8th Grade Farewell: N/A
  • Diversity Council Liaison - Angela Mosby -

 

School Fundraising  VP Report: Erin Dunlap -

  • Seeking sponsorships for these two fundraising nights.
  • Ideas for donations:  company matches and direct sponsors
  • Trivia Night - Thursday, November 14th
    • The website is set up for sponsors and registrations.
    • Marketing will be ordered by Friday and put up as soon as we get it back from printing.
    • Food will be provided by K Machos.
    • Nacho bar with cheese from Sams as well as cookies will be picked up at Sam’s
    • A portion of the money raised will be donated to the library. “Donated by” stickers are put in books for donors.
  • Mouse Derby - Friday, January 17th 
    • Looking for sponsors
    • Venue secured- Lodge at Ironwoods has been secured
    • Looking for additional volunteers for the evening- will do shifts 
    • Working on securing TopShelf as our host bar
