GENERAL PTO / EXECUTIVE BOARD MEETING

 Call to Order:

  • In attendance: Keri Williams, Shannon Maker , Jennifer Davenport, Lara Arnold, Cathy Swink, Jennifer Turner, Erin Dunlap, Kelly Caps, Shailja Enriquez, Crissy Wright, Lisa Stolper, Cali Gee, 

 

Principal’s Report: Lisa Stolper -

  • We are off to a good start. One month into school we are full swing into activities and sports, football, cross country, cheer, volleyball, the play is next week. New staff are up to speed and doing well. Cougar Crew is one superflex Thursday a mix of sixth, seventh and eighth come together to do team building and create a supportive culture. Cougar passports, they get stamps for participating in things, attendance, using virtues at school. Prizes for the end of semester. 

 

Presidents’ Report: Keri Williams -

  • LKMS PTO is on facebook and instagram is coming. We can advertise our events here, Robin Jensen is the administrator on these accounts. The LKMS PTO is launching a Take Stock Membership Campaign today and it will run thru September 27. 

 

Treasurer’s Report: Cathy Swink -

  • Bank balance is $19K includes, removing $1K for Taylor Eddings funds and $ 4K from trivia night last year for the courtyard renovations. Zero out ELA, cougar night pays for itself, we need to adjust teacher appreciation funds, it was raised after COVID from $25-$75 but we need to adjust it back down until we get more funds to roll in. Will the funds we have now need to change the timing of teacher grants.Leave the grants line item at $10K but we will need to change it to later in the year. We like to fulfill grants in the Fall so they have them for the school year. 
  • Treasury Reports were sent out to the board in an email. Budget vs Actual, budget and income/expense sheet was sent out by Keri

School Activities VP Report:

  • Spirit Wear: Jennifer Davenport - shirts are ready to be picked up next week. We raised $301.01
  • Cougar Night: Jennifer Turner -  November 8th 6:00 - 8:00 pm
    • The Theme is Cougar Kingdom, black and white silicone bands, football toss and a few different inflatables, same DJ, 
    • Need to discuss the 8th grade lounge. They wanted to not have the 8th grade lounge, 
  • 8th Grade Farewell: N/A
  • Diversity Council Liaison - Angela Mosby, the new teacher is getting up to speed, only one student at the first meeting. Chalk the Walk is coming up on Sunday.
  • Trivia Night - Friday October 18th, details TBD

School Support VP Report:

  • School Supplies - Cali Gee - discuss reviewing and renewing the contract with vendor “1st Day” The board agreed to renew the contract with “1st Day”
  • Staff Meals - Looking to change the way things are run. Looking into catering options where parents can drop off non-perishables like soda and chips.
